Yesterday’s Recap – We just missed once again in the Pick 5 in a race we didn’t use Nick Roland, but we were able to capitalize on the other legs. It was a very competitive sequence and for the gamblers who hit the Pick 5 they got a good amount of value from it. The Pick 5 of 7/9/6/6/3,5 and returned $1,066.60.
Breakdown:
Race 3: #1 FORECAST gets Callahan back in the bike and in his last five starts he has only one break where he fought back and almost hit the board. He draws the rail tonight has been racing very well since coming to Lexington, could be a price from the inside. #4 SUPER SCHISSEL was making a move last week and then jumped it off over an off track. He is a hard closer and looks to be apart of the ticket if he can mind his manners. #7 LINDY’S CRAZY HALL has a good amount of speed and a big ability to fire off the car. Domenico Cecere has been doing very well as of late and should not be ignored.
Race 4: #1 BEAUTYONTHEBEACH has looked very sharp in her short career so far for trainer Gregg McNair. She has a good amount of speed but has shown some ability to come from off the pace. That versatility is not something you want to ignore.
Race 5: #5 TAYLOR SWIFTLY has won three straight and has put it all together as of late. She is another very versatile filly that is racing on the program tonight and really gets along well with driver Scott Zeron. #7 FRENCH CAFÉ is facing a very tough group tonight, but she is coming off a couple of tough efforts. She seems to do better on the front end as she is very difficult to get by when she makes the lead. #10 LINDY PEARL has won two straight races and has been improving week after week with more racing experience. She has a good amount of speed and gets Miller back in the bike, but the only question here will be post position.
Race 6: Is one of the tougher races on the program and is one where we went the deepest. #1 MAJOR DECEPTION draws the inside this week after a big effort from post six last out. He has a good amount of cruising speed and if he is apart of the early pace-scenario then he will be tough down the lane. #2 CAPTAIN TREVOR is four-for-four in his young career and is a colt that has been getting better and better with each passing week. Unfortunately, you won’t see 20/1 on him tonight, but he may give a little bit of value this week. #3 BETTOR’S WISH has four wins in eight starts coming into the final. He has been put into the race by Dexter Dunn in both of his Sire Stakes starts and he just missed in both of them. Look for him to be close here at a price. #6 MAGIC JOE LINDY gets Zeron back in the bike this week who seems to get along well with this colt. He has a good amount of speed and could very well be part of the pace-scenario early. #10 BLOOD MONEY gets a tough draw this week, but three starts back he showed that he could handle it with no issues. He is a very speedy gelding and one to look at this week.
Race 7: #1 TOP EXPECTATIONS draws the rail after having last week off. She has two victories in her career and they both came during Sire Stakes action at The Red Mile. She gets over the track very well and shouldn’t be ignored. Stratton back in the bike is something to look at as well.
Race 8: #3 DANCE BLUE has won two straight after being a strong fifth against Youaremycandygirl and Kissininthesand. She is a bit of a closer and likes to come from off the pace. Look for her coming late down the stretch.
Race 9: #1 TACTICAL LANDING has won three of his last five starts with trainer Jimmy Takter in the bike. I was impressed with his effort in the Hambletonian final and he bounced back very impressively after some time off. He looks very tough from the rail. #3 CLASSICHAP looked very sharp last week against Sire Stakes company. He adds Callahan back this week and looks to continue that success. #4 WOLFGANG has a big amount of cruising speed and the break after missing the Hambletonian Final appears to have helped him. Look for him to be tough this week from the mid-pack.
Race 10: #5 THINKBIG DREAMBIG adds Lasix for the first time tonight after a disappointing effort last week. He has been on the ball as of late and racing very well against a strong group of three-year-olds. I think tonight will be a night he shines again. #6 AMERICAN HISTORY has won three of his last four starts and bounced back nicely after losing the Empire Breeders Championship to Meadowlands Pace winner Courtly Choice. He doesn’t get to the front all that easily but loves to come from off the pace and will be coming late.
