Date: 8/23/2018  Carryover: $0  Guarantee: $10,000

Ticket: ALL (10)/3,8/4,7,8/8,10– Cost: $60.00 ($.50 base)

Yesterday’s Recap – We had the winner in the trifecta yesterday, but that was about it with a couple of bombs underneath.  The other selections that we had to finish 2nd ran out of the money.  Our selection KAYMAR CHROME sat back off the pace and had to make up a good amount of ground in the stretch to score.  The trifecta of 5/9/1 returned $53.15.

Breakdown:

Race 3: We hit the ALL button in the first leg with our top selection being #10 ALWAYS A VAVOOM.  He is a speedy gelding who likes being close to the pace, post ten shouldn’t be that big of an issue as there is a little bit of speed towards the inside.  DeLong picks up the mount again and looks to rebound off a tough seventh-place effort.

Race 4: #3 SKYWAY DUSTY has won three straight races and is in first off the claim for trainer Roger Cullipher.  She has a little bit of early speed to contend with and something to note is that she beat this group three starts back.  That back class could shine through this week.  #8 REAL FUTURE is another horse in the field who has three straight wins against claiming company.  He could provide a little bit of value from the outside.  Look for him to be flying late.

Race 5: #4 BETTOR’S OUTLAW was a winner last week at Scioto Downs and will now come back to the bigger track where he looks for the luck to continue.  He for sure will apart of the early pace scenario.  #7 PAYNE FOR PRES has a good amount of consistency to his credit and has proven that he can come from just about anywhere.  He steps up to face a little bit tougher company tonight.  #8 MAC ANOVER made up a lot of ground against the upper-level series group last week but just couldn’t get close enough in the end.  Going to give another chance tonight at a little bit of a price.

Race 6: #8 MEADOWBROOK RAIDER came from a long way back last week and really improved with the addition of Lasix.  I look for him to continue that improvement this week against tougher company.  #10 ROBERTSGLADERUNNER gets a tough draw this week, but he is a gelding that really likes to come from off the pace.  He likes the perfect pocket journey and he can get it here.
