Yesterday’s Recap – We went two-for-four in the Pick 4 last night which paid very well for those who had it with the guaranteed pool. It was a sequence that stuck pretty much to form and didn’t deviate much from it. The Pick 4 of 4/2,7/5/2 returned $473.25
Breakdown:
Race 7: #4 SCOTT ROCKS handled preferred company at Yonkers last week with no issues from the outside and draws very well against a tough group this week. He is very versatile in that he can go to the lead, but can also close from off the pace. I expect a strong effort form him here. #7 SOMEWHERE IN L A draws towards the outside this week again and that hasn’t bothered him before, so I don’t expect it to bother him tonight. I look for him to be apart of the early pace-scenario, but the question will be what does Great Vintage do to his inside. #8 BIT OF A LEGEND N is a half-mile specialist and returns from Hoosier Park where he faced top company in the Dan Patch Stakes. He returns to Yonkers where he has been very competitive before.
Race 8: #1 DOCTOR BUTCH closed from off the pace last week and just missed against a game Scott Rocks. He draws the inside this week and it could allow him to set up a good trip again tonight. #3 CAVIART LUCA showed speed last out and tired towards the end of the mile. If he can ration out the speed on the front end, he could be dangerous at decent odds.
Race 9: #3 BLATANTLY BEST has had to deal with the outside in two starts, and last week he drew off to win against the easier company with absolute disdain. He is a strong closing gelding who has a big chance to show up against this group tonight.
Race 10: #2 IMA TRAGEDY N didn’t get the best of trips last week from post five where he sat the pocket got locked in down the stretch and just couldn’t shake free. I look for some improvement this week on a very trip-dependent horse. #7 CARRACCI HANOVER has won two of his last three starts and has been claimed in five of his last six. He gets a tough draw towards the outside, but his speed may carry him.
Race 11: #1 TRAVEL PLAYLIST has won three of his last five and has only missed the board once in six starts. He has a good amount of speed and the rail draw looks to make him very dangerous. #6 MISTER DAYTONA N is another competitive and consistent horse who has shown the ability to handle competing with the upper-level competition. He has a little bit of speed, but can also close from off the pace; his versatility should not be ignored.
