Yesterday’s Recap – We went three-for-four at Yonkers on Saturday night with the biggest price being Scott Rocks in the first leg. The sequence pretty much stayed to form and returned $147.50 for a .50-cent base wager.
Breakdown:
Race 7: #4 JL JOE has won four of his last five starts and has been racing very consistently as of late. He isn’t the speediest horse but does his best work when coming from off the pace. Look for a big effort with Crisler back in the bike again. #6 LUV STRUCK showed speed for the first time in a couple of starts last week, and he got the perfect trip and drew off in the stretch. I look for him to get another good trip this week even with an outside post. #7 HEYHEY MAHANAH has won two of her last three starts and she showed her versatility in both efforts. She has a good amount of speed, but can also come from off the pace. She is tough as nails and could light the tote board up.
Race 8: #8 BEIGNET could potentially be the value play of the sequence tonight from post eight. Last week he got parked through the first quarter and just never fired. The driver change to Tyler Smith makes the difference this week and should allow him to get a better trip.
Race 9: #4 GREAT IMAGE looked very sharp with Tom Tetrick in the bike last week. Tonight he gets Trace Tetrick and that could only mean one thing, victory. Last week he made a big middle move and drew off to win easily, look for that same type of effort. #8 SPEED TRAP faces easier company this week and that class relief could be helpful. I look for him to be apart of the early pace-scenario.
Race 10: #1 HE ROCKS THE MOON gets some considerable post relief tonight and that could play to his favor after a rebound effort last week. Tonight he gets a pretty key driver change to Tyler Smith, while he doesn’t have a ton of speed, he will be close to the pace. #6 MR BIG W has a ton of speed and has just missed in his last two efforts. From post-six I have a feeling Deaton will fire and then try to control the fractions up front.
