The Red Mile Race 7 (Pick 4)
Date: 10/6/2018  Carryover: $0  Guarantee: $10,000

Ticket: 2,4,6/1,5,10/3,5,8/4,6,7– Cost: $54.00 ($1.00 base)

Yesterday’s Recap – We went two-for-four in the Pick 4 yesterday as we got clipped by a couple of horses I just could not swing.  It was highly competitive and paid extremely well for the bettors that had it.  The Pick 4 of 3/5/4/3 returned $1,772.40.

Breakdown:

Race 7: #2 AIR FORCE HANOVER is one of the more consistent horses in the field this week and he has been setting some blistering fractions at many different racetracks.  He gets a good draw and should be setting the pace early today.  #4 DE LOS CIELOS DEO has been racing extremely well, but the Metro final he just did not have it.  He steps back a little bit this week but still faces some pretty stringent company.  If he can keep his mind to the task he has a chance.  #6 CAPTAIN AHAB is another that struggled in the Metro, a race that seemed to hamper some in this race.  He comes to the Red Mile looking for redemption.

Race 8: #1 MCWICKED has been up and down in his last few starts and has not won since September 1st.  He looked really good in the Hoosier Pacing Derby at Hoosier Park, if he can return to that form he will for sure be tough here.  #5 LAZARUS N has won three of five since coming to the US and has been no worse than second otherwise.  He gets a decent post this week and if no one leaves Gingras could really pressure things and score here.  #10 DONTTELLMEAGAIN has shown a lot so far since stepping to face stakes company and last weeks effort at Dayton was really sharp.  The only problem here is the post-position.

Race 9: #3 CAPTAIN CRUNCH struggled like many racing today did in the Metro.  He put in a big effort but tired coming down the lane.  Post-draw plays to his favor tonight, look for a strong trip from an inside post.  #5 PROOF just missed in the Bluegrass in his last start here at the Red Mile, closing late.  He gets David Miller back in the bike who gets along with this gelding pretty well.  #8 CAPTAIN VICTORIOUS has only missed the board once in his young career.  He draws a little tough, but for a $40,000 purchase from Lexington Selected Sale last year, he has proven he can produce.

Race 10: #4 YOUAREMYCANDYGIRL has been battling Kissin In The Sand and they have traded a few punches.  She draws well this week and should rebound after making a break in the Jugette.  #6 KISSIN IN THE SAND has won five of her last six starts and the race she missed was to Shower Play in the Simcoe.  This filly knows how to leave the gait and should be forwardly placed.  #7 ALEXA’S POWER has proven to me that she can hang with the big girls.  This is a filly I have left out many times, and she has come back to beat me.  Look for a decent score h
