Yesterday’s Recap – Yesterday, we weren’t able to connect with the trifecta as we had the winner and the third-place horse. It was a pretty chalky trifecta that stayed pretty true to form with Littlemisdangerous scoring and paying $8.20. The trifecta of 4/5/2 returned $37.15.
Breakdown:
Race 3: #6 SADIES ART came from off the pace last week to score easily with Trace Tetrick back in the bike. He draws a little tough again this week, but that shouldn’t play too big of a role as he likes to come from off the pace. #9 RED SCOOTER is dropping in class after some tough, but game efforts against tougher company. He has some early speed to contend with, but can also come from off the pace and that versatility is something that I would not ignore. #10 VINTAGE GRAND is one of the more consistent horses in the group this week and he has a good amount of speed to work with. He gets an outside draw, but I’m not too concerned about that.
Race 4: #1 COWBOY MATHIS showed a good amount of speed against this class last week and wound up getting claimed after a couple of good efforts. He gets a good draw on the inside this week and could show up with Oosting in the bike. #10 MCLEGEND was scratched sick last week, but he has the highest win percentage in the field at 24%. The draw is tough, but if anyone can come through with a big longshot it is Brandon “Big Ticket” Bates.
Race 5: #1 BELIEVEINYOURMACH gets De Long back in the bike this week and draws the rail which should play to his advantage. He has a decent amount of speed to contend with and has been racing consistently at the $12,500 level.
Race 6: #2 SHADY’S DREAM BOY was a winner two back after getting the perfect trip with Kyle Wilfong in the bike. Tonight he draws well and doesn’t have to deal with an off track. One to pay attention to. #3 HOLDONWE’REROLLING scored nicely last week after having to come first over with Bates in the bike. He draws well, but he is a horse with not a lot of gait speed. Look for him to be close tonight. #7 AFTER MARKET has had a case of seconditis as of late, but he appears to be coming into form. He has speed and can come from off the pace which makes this versatile gelding dangerous.
