USTA Play of the Day

Meadows Racetrack and Casino Race 4 (Pick 4)
Date: 6/25/2018  Carryover: $0   Guarantee: $7,500

Ticket: 2/1,6,7,9/1,4,6/7,8,10– Cost: $18.00 (.50 base)

Yesterday’s Recap – We drew some pretty decent prices in the early legs and was live in the final leg to decent money.  Unfortunately, Rick Magee and A Rockin Place had other plans stealing the show paying $32.60 to win.  The Pick 4 combo of 6/4/2/7 returned $1,633.70.

Breakdown:

Race 4: #2 FAST MOVIN TRAIN has won three of his last six starts all while being close to the pace.  He moved up in class two starts back and had a rough go of things; when he returned he seemed to be sharp as ever.  He is worth the play at a short price.

Race 5: #1 SOUTHWIND WARSAW the draw has not been a friend to him as of late, but both of his last two efforts Rawlings has pushed him to the front and he seems to like it there.  The rail draw makes him very dangerous this week with a potential price.  #6 UNCLE LEROY gets yet another tough draw this week, but gets some major class relief and a driver change.  He races better when he is closer to the pace; one would have to think Wilder will get into the mix earlier.  #7 OLYMPIC SON picks up Palone for the first time since April.  In that effort, he never got off the car and just faded.  He gets another tough draw tonight but against easier company.  #9 TRICKY NICK gets Pantaleano back in a very tough race but is another class dropper that could show up.  He draws tough towards the outside but has proven he can be close from here.

Race 6: #1 NATURALLY BAD won three straight before having a very tough trip and effort against the straight non-winners of three class.  Tonight he returns to a conditioned claimer where he may have a better go of things.  #4 HERE COMES STUBBIE gets Lasix for the first time this week and Palone gets back aboard. I have a feeling he will be tough to beat from here.  #6 BETTER TO BELIEVE has just missed in his last four efforts.  He likes to close from off the pace and could play spoiler.

Race 7: #7 BITE THE GOLD comes out of the Buckeye Stallion Series where he did not take to Scioto very well.  He returns to The Meadows where he has had some luck, especially when he is close to the pace.  #8 WOLLAM HANOVER was a horse we needed two weeks ago and he was coming but tired towards the end.  Going to give him another chance this week; post is the only concern.  #10 EXUBERANCE gets Brian Zendt back in the bike tonight after tiring badly against these last out.  He has speed to get off the car and, starting from the second tier, he could follow speed out.
