Jug Week Handicapping Review

Handicapper Frank Cotolo reviews his Little Brown Jug week plays.

Congratulations to the connections of Filibuster Hanvoer, who won the deciding heat of the Little Brown Jug.

Thanks to TJ Burkett, my Hoof Beats editor, Allison Conte from Harness Racing Fan Zone and the USTA for allowing me to open my wagering books and share the contents in these blogs again this year.

Only one of the horses we endorsed became a public choice and all of our contenders were wagered upon to meet a press deadline one day before the races.

We always list exacta prices when our choice finishes second to a favorite. Those exactas can be boosted greatly when we have an outsider getting the second spot (see exacta prices with results below).

Here are some statistics, followed by a list of the results of our blog information from Sunday through Thursday. Thank you for reading.

This year we offered 28 horses. There was one scratch, leaving 27 in to race.

There were two winners for a 7 percent win average.

There were 12 horses finishing first, second (5) or third (5) for a 44 percent in the money average.

There were 14 favorites that won among our chosen 27 races. There were six second favorites winning among our chosen 27 races.
