Clash of the Titans at the Meadowlands

This Saturday’s Arthur J. Cutler Memorial at Meadowlands Racetrack will be the stage for a battle of champion horses. “It’s like a who’s who of harness racing. To me, these are the (races) you’re waiting for. Races like this where you’re racing against the best, you can’t take anything for granted” says Richard Gutnick, co-owner of Market Share which is one of the horses racing.

Two of the favorites are Market Share, two-time Dan Patch award winner, and Swedish horse Sebastian K who is coming off a blistering world record win last week. Racing without horseshoes, Sebastian K equaled the fastest mile ever on a two-turn one-mile-size racetrack. “This could be like Frazier and Ali,” Gutnick said, “Hopefully, we’re Ali with the quickness.” Not to be counted out, winner of the 2013 Cutler Final Sevruga will also be part of the field competing for this year’s prize.

With a $175,000 purse up for grabs, currently the positions for the 7th race of the night at the Meadowlands Racetrack look to be:
