Yesterday’s Recap – We went two-for-four in a sequence that had the tote board light up, not once, but twice.  In Leg 1, Dexter Dunn just narrowly got up over our two selections JL JOE and LUV STRUCK after making up ground in the stretch.  He came through at odds of 18/1.  We looked good in Leg 2, but then tired towards the end of the mile where CAMGRANDEST scored at 9/1.  The Pick 4 of 5/3/4/1 returned $869.50.

Breakdown:

Race 9: #8 BATTLE CRUISER is one of the more consistent horses in the field tonight and got along well with Palone last week.  He has a decent amount of gait speed and likes to trip out, look for him to be coming later in the trip.

Race 10: #4 INVESTED IN LINDY has won two of his last six and hit the board in four of those efforts.  He has a good amount of gait speed and knows how to get to the top, post-position is a key component here.  #5 MY COUSIN VINNIE won two of his last three and last week’s effort was not his best by any means.  Look for some improvement from the connections this week.  #8 MIDNIGHT ZETTE gets a tough draw but knows how to get into a good early position here.  I expect him to be on or near the lead.

Race 11: #1 FLAMING BEACH won by a head last week and had to make a lot of ground up and pass a good amount of horses.  That effort makes me like her a lot, her heart showed that day.

Race 12: #5 TOWNLINE MOMMA made a break in her last start throw it out and try again this week.  She knows how to hit the board and while she doesn’t have a win yet this year, today could be the day.  #7 KICK A LOT comes off a monster effort where he passed a good amount of horses down the lane to finish a game third.  He should be on the pace early.

Race 13: CATHERINE’SDIAMOND has a good amount of gait speed and he knows how to use it. He is close every week and always has a chance to win.  #10 THISWAYORTHEHIGHWY drew off in the stretch to win easily last week from post four.  There is a little bit of speed inside which should allow him to get into a good early spot from the second tier.
