Breakdown:
Race 8: #1 WINDSUN GLORY two starts back got a terrible trip going the extended distance of a mile and an eighth. She was parked the mile in that effort and still only managed to finish 5 ¼ lengths off the lead. The next start for her was much better and I can see continued improvement here. #8 ROCKIN PRALINE is one of the more consistent mares in the group hitting the board in four of her last five starts. She gets a tough draw on the outside for trainer Nick Surick, but she has shown speed from out here before. Look for her to be on the scene.
Race 9: #2 COMMANDER PARIS N adds Lasix for the first time this week off a very impressive effort at Pocono on July 17. That night he raced over a very sloppy track and still showed a lot of promise. Look for him to be close to the pace.
Race 10: #1 METEORIC closed very nicely from off the pace last week, but started just too far back. He draws the rail this week and that makes him extremely dangerous against these. #5 SWEET JUSTICE tired very badly in the stretch last week, turning for home something looked amiss, but it just looked like he was tired. His second start off a short layoff could be a winning one. #6 MAN OF MUSCLE got a terrible draw last week and never recovered racing at Yonkers at the extended mile and a quarter distance. Driver change to Callahan tonight.
Race 11: #2 DAENERYS HANOVER is one of the more consistent horses in the group and gets Tetrick back in the bike this week after a game effort from post three last time out. The inside draw seems to play to his advantage, but the trip will tell the tale. #6 JENNA HANOVER has only one win in 2018, but his early speed could allow him to get into the race early.
