Yesterday’s Recap – Our single yesterday that we used on top got the perfect trip, took the lead briefly and then tired at the end. The official trifecta of 7/3/4 returned $45.00.
Breakdown:
Race 3: #2 PERFECT PITCH if she minds her manners could very well be the one to beat from the inside. She doesn’t have a lot of gait speed, which is a little concerning, but She has a big closing power to her. Look for her this week. #5 PUMPKINSPICELATTE takes a drop down in class this week to face a group that she has been competitive with before. I expect her to be apart of the early pace-scenario. #8 DOYOUDESIREMYHEART has only missed the board once in five starts while racing at Northville. The bigger track may help her here. #9 SOPHIA SEELSTER was a strong winner last out after getting the perfect trip. Since getting Luke Plano in the sulky, she has two straight game efforts.
Race 4: #4 VOTEX IVY has hit the board in five of her last five starts and has had a great start to her career so far. She isn’t a speedy filly, but she likes being close to the pace. Look for her to be around. #8 THAT’S A BINGO had to overcome post ten last week and has raced on a sloppy track two races in a row. Look for improvement on a better track tonight. #9 MARY GOODNIGHT is yet to win this year, and that is the biggest strike against her, but she has had to overcome some tough posts and trips. I am hoping for a better trip this week.
Race 5: #2 JIMMY RAY LOU adds Trace Tetrick back in the sulky this week after a difficult effort from post nine last week. The last time Tetrick drove the gelding he was a strong second. I expect a game effort. #4 BEAUTY DESIRES was second last week coming from off the pace, getting the perfect trip. If he can get into a good stalking spot early it could improve his chances. #5 LANAS DESIRE scored on the front end last week setting some pretty torrid fractions. He is a very speedy gelding who likes to be on the lead. #6 THEREALSLIMSHADY was a winner last week and dominated at that passing a ton of horses late in the stretch. Post is a little bit tougher, but I don’t think that will make a big difference here.
Race 6: #4 NIGEL TUFNEL was a horse I fancied at Lexington last week and while he didn’t win, he did not disappoint. He showed speed and never fired from there. Post improvement could very well make the difference. #5 ROYAL REX has had a string of third place efforts as of late, but his hard charging speed is what fancies me to him. Hoping for some continued improvement this week. #6 MIGHTY HOT SHOT made a break two starts back and he was closing and he just never fired. He has shown the ability to pace in 52, outside chance, but could light up the board.
