Yesterday’s Recap – Yesterday was a rough day for the play of the day as we only went one for four with a score in the last leg and BC Octane delivered at $8.40.  The Pick 4 of 7/8/4/5 returned $327.05

Breakdown:

Race 7: #1 BEST OF JENNA has had to deal with a lot of elements as of late, from post eight to sloppy conditions, she just hasn’t had a chance to really shine.  Her return to the rail could help score another victory tonight.  #3 SALLY FLETCHER A missed the board last week getting a little leg weary in the stretch.  She isn’t the speediest mare, but she a powerful closing kick that is not something I would ignore.  #6 CALL ME QUEEN BE has won two straight and has a ton of back class to work with.  She gets a tough draw this week, but she has really gotten along well with Bartlett.  Expect a bigger mile here.

Race 8: #4 CHAPTER FASHION has been racing well against Sire Stakes company and drops in to face easier this week.  Bartlett gets the mount again and I see him continuing to have success for trainer Jim Campbell.  #6 GIMPANZEE has been an absolute monster so far throughout his young career.  He gets a tough draw but was able to win easily the last time he was on the outside.  Definitely a big play here.

Race 9: #2 SKINNY DIPPER got a tough trip last week after being parked to the first-quarter.  She draws much better this week and should rebound off of that effort.  #5 SCANDALICIOUS came first over last week then had to come three-wide and still missed by four lengths.  She has the ability and that is key in a race that is as wide-open as this one.

Race 10: #1 JEWEL LEHIGH A has had some very bad luck with the post draw as of late but showed promise last week putting in a monster effort.  She has some early speed to contend with which should allow her to be a part of the pace scenario.  #4 SKIPPIN BY is another very speedy mare, but as of late she has been faltering late in the stretch.  I think she has a legitimate chance to show up tonight.  #5 FREEZE OUT gets Stratton back in the bike this week and already has two wins with the mare recently.  She will be coming late, this is a trip-dependent mare.

Race 11: #2 ABC MUSCLES BOY has three wins in his last four starts and they have all been from outside posts at Pocono.  Tonight he draws the rail and should be a part of the early pace-scenario if he flashes his early speed.  #4 THE LAST CHAPTER has won two straight and looks to continue that success this week.  They tried something new with the gelding by sending him to the top and that is a great place for him.  Once he is there he is tough to catch.  #7 SUMATRA is another gelding in the field that is coming off of two straight victories.  He handled the jump in class to Yonkers very well, the only question is the post position.
