Yesterday’s Recap – We scored only one victory on the Monday program at The Meadows yesterday.  That victory was one of the shorter prices of the sequence.  The official Pick 5 was 5-6-3-4-4 and paid $16,000.

Breakdown:

Race 9: #1 MCDAZZLE gets the services once again of Mike Wilder after a couple of game efforts against this class.  She draws the inside this week which will allow her to get into a good early position.  Look for her to be on the scene late.  #6 CIRCLE THE PAGE was a winner against Open company at Scioto downs three starts back getting loose on the front end.  Throw out the last race where she was parked a majority of the mile.  I expect a bigger effort.  #7 LAKEISHA HALL has won three of her last five starts and is one of the more consistent horses in the group.  She will without a doubt be the favorite.

Race 10: #1 EDGE OF ETERNITY put in a powerhouse performance last week when he scored against this class winning by eight lengths.  Her first qualifier looked ultra-sharp, I don’t think they are going to be able to catch her today.

Race 11: #1 SHARK GAL closed gamely from off the pace last week for trainer/driver Wilbur Yoder.  She draws the inside this week and that can’t hurt her, her late speed is something that should be looked at.  #2 HURRICANE CALLEIGH put in an impressive performance last time out closing home in her usual strong closing speed of 28.4.  She doesn’t have a lot of early speed, but she seemed to enjoy being close to the pace last week, I would expect the same kind of trip.  #8 MIMOSA PARTY is the fastest of the mares in the field, but she draws tough towards the outside.  That has never seemed to bother her before, looking forward to seeing her on the track.

Race 12: #1 SMART BALANCE picks up Merriman again this week after getting along with her in her last start.  She has a good amount of early speed which allows her to get off the gait well.  #5 OUR G G adds Lasix for the first time this week after getting some tough trips in her last few starts.  Look for her to put in a stronger effort with this addition.  #9 EASY THREE is one of the more consistent horses in the group tonight.  She is another horse that is not big speed wise, but she knows to get into the races.

Race 13: #3 MS AMERICAN MUSCLE drops down out of the Arden Downs where she was a game second against some very tough company.  She is dropping to face a little easier here, expect a big mile from the inside.
