We hit the all button in the last leg which turned out to be a smart move as a 9/1 shot came to the winner’s circle. The official Pick 4 was 6/6/9/1 and returned $287.15.
Breakdown:
Race 8: #4 BLOOD LINE was a game third against Lazarus N and Lather Up in his qualifier on July 28. He gets a good draw tonight and if trainer Jimmy Takter has the kinks worked out and he can behave he will be tough to beat. #5 EXPRESS STRIDE N just missed in his last start against this group. He has a big closing kick and has seen improvement over the past few starts.
Race 9: #1 STORMIN RUSTLER didn’t get the best of trips last week and tired to last at big odds. He faces this group again tonight and if he can get a better trip and use some early tactical speed, he may be in the mix. #2 FRANKIE BOY hasn’t hit the board since coming to the Meadowlands, but the driver change to Abbatello could make the difference along with some post improvement.
Race 10: #4 TACO TUESDAY has won three of his last four starts and he has really adapted well to a bigger track. He has tactical speed and is a very versatile gelding. Look for him to be in the mix tonight.
Race 11: #4 BLACK HAMMER could be the value play to the sequence. He gets a driver change to Andy Miller this week. He has a little bit of early speed and should be into the mix early. #6 VOICE OF TRUTH got a tough trip last week, and made a big sweeping move into the far turn and then tired late. If he can get an easier trip he is another that could shock. #10 OUTCRY gets Eric Abbatello back in the bike this week off some decent performances. He is the speediest gelding, but he can close from off the pace.
