Ticket: 1,2,4/3,6/1,9/1,2,5,7 – Cost: $32.00 (.50 base)

Yesterday’s Recap – We went three-for-four yesterday with a loss to only Alexa’s Power in Race 10.  Besides that, it was a pretty chalky sequence that paid pretty well.  The official order 6/7/5/1 returned $52.60.

Breakdown:

Race 9: #1 DONTDOUBTTHELAKERS drops down in class tonight after making the lead last week and tiring badly in the stretch last week.  The line is a little deceiving where it shows he finished eighth, but he only missed by 3 ¾ lengths.  Look for him to be close to the pace early on.  #2 CR ARTISTIC throw out the start last week where he started from the outside and never really fired.  The post draw and drop in class make him a very strong contender.  #4 GENERAL TIME has the speed to be close to the pace and possibly could be a contender to take them wire to wire against the easier company.  Look for him early with a driver change to Wiseman who gets along well with the gelding.

Race 10: #3 HARD COLD CASH has won five of his last six starts and has really shown a lot of promise from just about any post position.  He has some early speed to contend with and will probably be the pace-setter.  #6 HAWK’S RED CHIEF was parked the mile in the Dan Patch FFA last out and tired badly late.  Tonight he gets a driver change back to Rick Magee and looks to rebound.

Race 11: #1 GENUINE DEISRE has won three of his last four starts all of them from coming from off the pace.  Tim Maier picks up the lines again and he really gets along well with the gelding.  I think he will be sharp tonight.  #9 RUSH AND A BRUSH is the speed horse of the field and could very well be the pace-setter even from the outside.  Gerry Longo picks up the mount tonight and she looks to continue her improvement.

Race 12: #1 TWOMICKEYTRIP takes a step back on class this week after getting roughed up last week.  He isn’t the speediest gelding, but he is one who likes to roll from off the pace.  I expect him to be on the scene late in the mile.  #2 WINONEFORDOUG has been racing well at the fairs and hitting the board in those efforts.  Last week he only missed by ¾ of a length and was coming late last week at decent odds.  Look for him late.  #5 YA U BET CHA was third against this class last week.  Some of his best miles come when he is on the lead, look for him to be close to the pace tonight.  #7 FOX VALLEY SPARTY will not be the biggest price, but the transition to the 5/8 mile track could very well be what helps him improve.
