Yesterday’s Recap – We went four-for-five in the Pick 5 yesterday at The Meadows which saw some pretty competitive races.  Our loss came in Race 12 as our selection CHIPARIFFIC was scratched and we got the post time favorite, Shelovesumore who finished fifth beaten seven lengths.  The official Pick 5 was 4/8/6,8/2,4 and paid $1,179.00.

Breakdown:

Race 8: #9 HARD COLD CASH is the speed of the race and could very well be the pace-setter from the outside.  He has used speed from out here before and he has won four straight with Dean Magee in the bike.

Race 9: #3 WHO’S DREAMING is one of the more consistent horses in the group this week and that consistency factor is something to really look at.  She has a little bit of speed and could show up against these.  #5 MY HEARTS CONQUEST didn’t do much from post eight last week, but before that, she had won three straight races.  She draws well again and could strike at a price.  #7 GUNS N MONEY sports Lasix for the first time, coming off a game-winning effort last out.  He draws tough again this week, but look for him to be close against these at long odds.

Race 10: #1 PLACE’N FIRST takes a big drop down out of the Open this week for trainer Jenn King.  She hasn’t been racing that great and drops back to a more manageable class.  #6 PLACE AT THE BEACH has won three straight for trainer Gerald Longo and Dean Magee gets along well with her.  If the 5/1 ML holds she could be the value play of the sequence.  #7 SWINGING AGAIN is another very consistent mare who has shown a lot of promise.  She has some early speed but has a big closing kick as well.

Race 11:  The bottom level takes center stage in the finale and one thing I have learned from this leg the last couple of weeks is you may want to consider the all button if you can.  #4 CHILMA drops in class and gets a much better post draw with a driver change to Wiseman and may be worth a play if the price is right.  #8 YESWELLNOMAYBE dropped to this class last week and made a big sweeping move to close to finish third.  She will be tough here as well.  #9 THE GOBYE GIRL is another big class dropper looking for improvement.
