Yesterday’s Recap – While we hit the Play of the Day yesterday, the play wound up losing money in the end. We hit all five legs beginning in Race 2 and it paid $29.50.
Race 6: #1 EASY LIVIN is coming off of a pretty impressive score against much easier company at Monticello. It is interesting to see her drop in here, but I think she may have a shot off the rail this week. #2 THORNAPPLE hasn’t missed the board in her last six starts and her transition to Yonkers has almost been flawless. Expect a big trip tonight. #5 CABWABOCUTTIE closed very impressively last week from off the pace and just missed in the end. She gets a very good draw this week and should rebound off of that effort.
Race 7: #2 XPERT BAYAMA has only missed the board once in his last six starts, this gelding likes to be forwardly placed and from the inside should be able to make that happen. Brennan in the bike for the first time makes me like him even more.
Race 8: #1 WILD BILL has struggled in his last couple of starts for trainer Ray Schnittker, but he has been facing some very stiff competition. The cut back should make a difference tonight. #3 LISBURN has been pretty consistent as of late, I almost have to throw last weeks start out as he was stung to the quarter and tired late. The draw was kind to him again and with a better trip he should race back well.
Race 9: #5 BOOK BINGE faces similar company this week after a tough effort last out. I almost have to throw that race at Pocono out as a fluke, because he had been racing very well before then. The draw was kind to him and his first start on a half in a while may prove to be a winning one.
Race 10: #1 CAVIART LUCA draws the rail with George Brennan in the bike tonight off an impressive effort here last week. I gotta think he will be closer to the pace with a better post draw.
