Yesterday’s Recap – There were no strategic wagers yesterday (Columbus Day)

Breakdown:

Race 9: #1 IRON MINE JOHNNY recovered from his sick scratch very well and handled the time off like it was nothing last week.  He looked a little tired last week but raced gamely.  Look for a bounce-back score.  #3 UPFRONT CHARLIEBOY put in a good effort down the lane but was leg weary to the winner.  Today he gets a driver change to Fahy which could make a difference.

Race 10: #7 SHOOBY SAID is one of the more consistent horses in the group this week.  He has a good amount of early speed and normally when he gets in a good early position he races well.  Look for Merriman to leave this week.

Race 11:  #1 ANTAGONIST draws the rail this week after a tough effort from post ten last out.  He steps back to face a little easier company and from the rail that could play to his advantage.  #4 TRIBAL WAR gets a driver change to Tony Hall who has hit the board with this gelding before.  He has had a couple of tough efforts from outside draws, look for improvement.  #7 OFFDAHOOK BLUECHIP has put in a couple of game efforts as of late, but he has a very big amount of speed.  He normally does not miss by much, look for him at a small price.

Race 12: #5 FAIR GLIDER needs the last start thrown out where he made a break before the ¼ and never really recovered.  He was claimed in that effort by trainer William Rhoades who is currently winning at a 27% clip.  Should improve this week.

Race 13: #6 KEYSTONE STEAM won decisively off the driver change to Palone last week and facing this same group tonight, I have to believe that mile may happen again.  You won’t’ get a big price of him, but he looks like a lock on paper.
