Yesterday’s Recap – Yesterday, we had all the right horses, just in the wrong order.  Our key selection She’s A Kitten tried to get to the eventual winner, but just couldn’t get there.  The official trifecta was 3-2-6 and paid $69.40.

Breakdown:

Race 7: #1 THE RIGHT MOVE closed gamely from off the pace last week against this class.  Tonight she draws the inside and should work out a better trip.  #2 ALONG CAME JANE dropped to this level last out and is another mare who didn’t draw that well.  She doesn’t have a lot of early speed, but she can close like a rocket.  #5 DRAGON JEWEL seems to be on the upswing since dropping down in class on June 14.  She likes to be in the mix early to keep her mind on the prize and she can do that from here.  #7 IVORY COLLECTION gets Ryan Anderson back in the bike tonight for trainer Tim Hall.  Both of these connections sport a decent win average, and she seems to be on the upswing as of late.

Race 8: #3 ADELE’S BIG PARTY is one of a couple horses in the field who has shown a good amount of consistency.  He is a nice horse, who does most of his winning coming from behind.  #9 YOUMAKEMYHEARTSING puts together the deadly duo of Kyle and Brett Wilfong with a pacer that could make a stamp on the Illinois circuit.  He draws tough this week but has proven he can work from mid-pack if he gets into the race early.  Expect a big effort.

Race 9: #4 ASHLEE’S JOY didn’t get the best of trips against the upper-level company last out.  Tonight she drops down and is looking to improve off of that effort.  #7 FRONTIER LOLA was visually impressive in her first start, while she didn’t make up a lot of ground in the stretch, her final time was something to talk about especially against these.  Look for her to be in the mix early and be fighting down the stretch.  #9 FRONTIER SHIRLEY closed gamely after being parked the mile last week just getting beat by a neck.  That was a gutsy effort by this mare and she could be tough again tonight at decent odds.

Race 10: #1 WISHIN IWAS RICH throw out the last start as she was impeded at the start and never got into the race.  In the starts before that, she has been very tough and competitive; I would expect nothing less from her tonight.  #8 POWERFULL INTENSE went to the top last week and never looked back.  Tonight she gets a tough post, but with her speed, she should be in the mix early
