USTA Play of the Day

The Meadows Racetrack and Casino Race 9 (Pick 5)
Date: 6/13/2018  Carryover: $0   Guarantee: $5,000

Ticket: 2,4/7,8/2,7/4,5,9/5,10 – Cost: $24.00 (.50 base)

Yesterday’s Recap –  I was right on one thing about yesterday’s Hoosier hi-5 in the fact that it was going to be a tough race.  One of the top two selections finished fifth after going to the lead and tiring late and the other scratched.  This took our ticket cost down to $1.00.  The official finish in the Super Hi-5 was 10-9-3-2-7 which sparked a 20-cent payoff of $1,300!

Breakdown:

Race 9: #2 Rock On BB gets Mike Wilder back in the bike this week after an absolute romp against non-winners of one last out.  She got the perfect trip in that effort and with another inside draw, she looks to be tough again.  #4 SINGALONGWITHBING gets a significant driver change to Merriman this week after a tough effort on June 6.  She likes to be close to the pace and, with not a lot of speed in the race, it could set up for her to be firing late in the mile.

Race 10: #7 SWAN’S WHEY is dropping down out of the upper level claiming event after two promising efforts.  The last time she faced this class, she went to the lead from mid-pack and never looked back.  Post position is a little bit of a concern, but if Pantaleano can get her set up close to the pace, she will be in it.   #8 BABELICIOUS really likes the surface at The Meadows and her past performance lines show it.  She gets the services of Mike Wilder who seems to get along very well with her.  Post eight might seem like a tough draw, but she has done good things from there before.

Race 11: #2 FUTURE SPIN was Brady’s choice this week over #4 Dance Gisele.  While she is yet to win against this class, she has shown a ton of promise.  The inside post draw plays to her favor and, if she can mind her manners, she could be tough.  #7 NORTHERN ANGELA could very well be the price play of the race.  She stepped up to this class last week and didn’t really get going. Tonight she gets a driver change back to Merriman who has won with her before.  I expect her to be coming strongly late in the mile.

Race 12: #4 FISH IS FISH has been hit or miss against tougher company as of late. Tonight she drops into a class where she could be very competitive if she minds her manners.  She has a good amount of back class and likes the track at the Meadows.  Also, if the forecast holds true, and the track is off she has taken a liking to an off track.  #5 FIREBALL’S PRAYERS seems to have her breaking issues worked out and has put in two very solid efforts.  She has a good amount of speed and picks up Tony Hall once again.  #9 WHAMBAMTHANKUMAAM could strike at a price with the class drop this week.  She has a good amount of early kick and, if she repeats her effort two back, she is going to be tough to beat.

Race 13: #5 IT’S A DEW THING draws well this week and gets the services of Tony Hall who gets along with him.  He doesn’t have a ton of early speed, but likes to be up close to the pace and come home strongly.  He could present a good amount of value to close out the Pick 5.  #10 MUSCLEHEAD ANDY draws the second tier and is moving up in class this week after scoring three straight victories.  Mike Wilder gets the lines again this week and, when partnering with trainer Dave Mcneight Jr., they are currently winning at a 25% clip.
