Two minutes with your favorite drivers, trainers, owners and people from around the sport. This month’s edition of Trackside features Yonkers Raceway regular driver Brent Holland who has won nearly 5,000 races and over $50 million in purses in his career.

Childhood Ambition:

Racing horses.

First Job:

My first job was at the Maynard Hagemeyer family farm. They had a big farm, a racetrack, and they were right next door to us.

Hero:

Growing up in the horse racing industry, I looked up to several different guys. I didn’t know them, but John Campbell and Jack Moiseyev when I was younger, and Ron Pierce as I got older. Jesus Christ is my hero from a life standpoint.

Fondest Memory:

Marrying my wife and having my children.

Proudest Racing Moment:

I don’t think I could put that into one answer. There are a lot of different races and people involved, so I couldn’t just pick one.

Biggest Challenge:

Trying to live in the moment. A lot of times you can have a plan going into the race, and there are six, seven or 10 other guys in the race and one guy can change everything.
