Harness Racing Takes On The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

To help raise awareness and funds to fight Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gherig’s Disease, thousands around the country are having fun and challenging friends to donate to the ALS Association. Peter Frates, a man with ALS himself, helped make the challenge spread around the internet and help raise millions to research and battle this debilitating disease.

In honor of Frates and millions living with ALS, Scioto Downs drivers Josh Sutton, Nick Turley, Randy Tharps, Shawn Barker II and Jason Merriman filmed the video below, donating to the charity and having an entire bulldozer bucket of ice water dumped on them!

Drivers Aaron Merriman, Kayne Kauffman, Tyler Smith, Zach Mogan and Ronnie Wrenn Jr, along with Scioto Downs general manager Stacy Cahill followed suit, challenging Northfield Park drivers.

Challenged by a harness racing fan, USTA executive vice president and CEO Mike Tanner rose to the occassion and named some of the faces of the harness racing media to continue support for this great cause.

Will you accept the challenge?
