International Trot Video: Nuncio

As the 2017 International Trot approaches, the SOA of NY and Yonkers Raceway would like fans to get to know the potential competitors that could be heading state-side to take on the best in the world in the $1 million International Trot.

In the first video installment, Swedish trainer Stefan Melander talks about star trotter Nuncio, a familiar name to U.S. harness racing fans, and the chances of his returning to the U.S. to compete in the International Trot.

Nuncio’s North American victories included the 2014 Yonkers Trot and Kentucky Futurity, giving him two of the three jewels of the Trotting Triple Crown. He was second in the Hambletonian to stablemate Trixton before travelling to Sweden for his 4-year-old season. He has not returned to the U.S. since.
