Delaware County Fair Race 9 (Pick 4)
Date: 9/17/2018  Carryover: $0  Guarantee: $5,000

Ticket: 1,3,5/2,4/6/1,6 Cost: $12.00 ($1.00 base)

Yesterday’s Recap – Just missing has been the name of the game as of late, and yesterday we went three-for-four with a $22.00 horse to start us off.  We just missed in the last leg by a head costing us a good chunk of change.  The official Pick 4 of 10/4/5/2 returned $595.20.

Breakdown:

Race 9: #1 BIG BAD GOLDIE draws the inside tonight off a two-month layoff.  She qualified well, the question is going to be what kind of horse will see off of that layoff.  Driver change to David Miller can’t hurt.  #3 TALKABOUTAQUEEN has a good amount of early speed to work with when she is pressured and uses it.  Today they add the services of Ryan Stahl which could make a difference.  Look for her to be part of the early pace-scenario.  #5 CHRISTINA ONE is one of the more consistent horses in the group tonight and didn’t draw that bad compared to her last couple of starts.  She is another horse that likes to be part of the early pace and could be leaving from here.

Race 10: #2 WITTYVILLE enters this race off a victory in the $275,000 Ohio Sire Stakes final on Super Night last week.  Trainer Ron Burke has this colt ready to roll and his versatility is something that should not be overlooked.  #4 PATTIS MAIN MAN just missed last week against two-year-old Open horses at Northfield.  He is a tactical closer and should be on the scene late.

Race 11: #6 PEARL CRUSH has a good amount of speed and changes drivers to Noble this week and that can only spell one thing, victory.  He has proven his ability on a half before and that should transfer to the Delaware surface.

Race 12: #1 HOMER HALL has four wins in six starts, mostly at the fairs, but has proven that he can race with some of the top tiered horses.  Throughout the final of the Sire Stakes where he had a tough post and the track was extremely sloppy.  Going to give another chance off the rail tonight.  #6 OH SO PINE adds Lasix for the second time tonight and seemed to improve a little bit with the addition of Lasix last out.  He has the early speed to contend with, the question is can he get close to the pace.
