USTA Play of the Day

The Red Mile Race 7 (Pick 4)
Date: 8/19/2018  Carryover: $0  Guarantee: $5,000

Ticket: ALL (8)/4,5/1/5– Cost: $8.00 ($.50 base)

Yesterday’s Recap – We hit the ALL button in the right leg last night when E R Vincent scored in the Pick 4 sequence and returned $11.80 to win.  We were live in the last leg, then Fancy Creek Jolene, just got up by a head over our single Dali Treasure (11/1) right at the wire.  The Pick 4 of 8/1,7/8/5 returned $88.05.

Breakdown:

Race 7: Is a very competitive field of eight that just about anyone can win and a couple of horses are exiting the $500,000 Hambletonian Oaks.  My pick in the race is #8 LIVE LAUGH LOVE did not get a good trip at all in the final last week after racing very well in the Elimination.  She is a filly that likes to be on the front end and I have a feeling that is where she will end up being.

Race 8: #4 JESSI’S WESTERN takes a step back in class this week and gets some major post relief which helps him out tremendously.  Look for him to be closer to the pace this week and in a better position to win.  #5 WESTERN EMPRESS is another class dropper that receives some major post help.  She is not a speedy mare, but she can close from off the pace if she is close.

Race 9: #1 TACTICAL LANDING really impressed me in the Hambletonian after struggling early in his career.  He has some tactical (excuse the pun) early speed, and has proven that he can compete with the big dogs.  I look for him to have a big shot here.

Race 10: #5 STAND YOUR GROUND has been racing on the mile fair tracks and racing very competitively.  He qualified at The Red Mile on August 10 and was very sharp.  I expect him to be close to the pace and scoring late.
