Yesterday’s Recap – Yesterday we didn’t use the favorite on top and it came back to bite us as he got the perfect trip and closed late in the stretch to win.  The trifecta of 2/4/7 returned $10.90

Breakdown:

Race 3: #4 WISH UPON A ROCK is one of the more consistent horses in the field having won two of her last five starts with three seconds, all just missing in the end.  She draws well and gets Sam Widger back in the bike for trainer Ernie Gaskin.  Look for her to be apart of the early pace scenario.  #7 NORTHERN SALINA is a filly who is really not a big speed horse and likes to close from off the pace.  She draws a little tough tonight, but her racing style suits the post draw.

Race 4: #7 PUMPKINSSPICELATTE seems to have improved some since DeLong picked up the lines.  She draws tough this week but is a bit of a closer that has a strong kick in the end.  Looking for a big effort this week.  #9 SKYWAY DUSTY has a monumental amount of speed and she is one of the more consistent horses in the field. She really likes the Hoosier Park Racecourse which plays to her advantage tonight.

Race 5: #4 REAL FUTURE is the most likely pacesetter of the group and gets Putnam back in the bike tonight after winning two straight.  He really likes to be close to the pace and has a good amount of speed to contend with.  I expect a game effort here.

Race 6: #4 DONAVAN Z TAM makes his first career start after an impressive qualifier on August 8th.  I say impressive by the time and closing time that he put in which makes him very competitive with this field.  The qualifier was against the older company and from an outside post, things look more in his favor tonight for trainer Jamie Macomber.
