Breakdown:
Race 9: #1 VAGUE TRACES came to the Meadows from Hoosier last week and handled the racing surface very well. Gets Tony Hall back in the sulky tonight and that could spell victory for this gelding who is racing on Lasix for the second time. #3 V I P BAYAMA closed gamely from off the pace last week after a long first over grind to win easily. Merriman back at the controls makes him a tough contender.
Race 10: #3 MAINLAND KEY N has been extremely competitive as of late moving up and down in class. The last time he faced this group he was game in defeat if he can repeat that effort he will be tough to beat. #8 MAYTIME TERROR could potentially be one of the pace-setters even from the outside. He picks up Zendt as Palone is not at The Meadows on Saturday night. He has raced well from outside posts before and looks to be tough again here. #9 ARTFUL BLISS raced very well last week from post seven against this group and had to rate from the outside. He draws tough again, but if he can be apart of the early pace scenario he could be tough.
Race 11: #1 MS MULLEN raced very well in her last two starts from the outside scoring a victory and a second place finish. She draws the rail tonight for trainer Dirk Simpson and if she can stay flat she looks to be the one to beat. #7 BAD RENTORS has won four of her last five starts and just missed by a head last time out. She has a good amount of speed and has the ability to be forwardly placed.
Race 12: #6 ROCK N JO Z has won two of his last four starts and last week he had to come from back off the pace. He is a very versatile colt and could show up against this group. #7 SO CONFUSED is a very consistent gelding that will be close early in the mile. Last week he tried to come first up at the half and couldn’t sustain it so he saved ground and tried to close just missing. Look for him to be around late. #8 WHOS BETTER scored two starts back against this group and then last week was used hard to get to the lead and faltered late. Look for more this week.
Race 13: #1 SILVERHILL BLAZE draws the rail and is dropping back in class this week and that could spell victory. Driver change to Brocklehurst. #10 DEW N DOUGHNUTS could spark a big payoff from the outside after putting in a big mile last week. His final times have the ability to beat these.
