Yesterday’s Recap – There was no play of the day yesterday.
Breakdown:
Race 2: #1 ZOOMING may be doing some zooming tonight with a good inside draw for the first time in a few starts. He also gets a big driver change to Brett Miller which definitely could make this gelding more versatile. #5 CAN DO needs the last two races thrown out where he didn’t get the best of trips from the outside. He normally races better on or near the lead and the post draw definitely makes a difference here. #6 TUONOBLU REX made a break in his last start against a hair tougher company and never battled on. Looks like he could show up this week though and rebound off of that effort.
Race 3: 1A CHARLIE ONA HARLEY is the more consistent of the two entries, the biggest issue here is that he draws post ten. He has shown some early speed in the past but is one that can also come from off the pace. That versatility should not be ignored. #5 TAKE A WISH has put up some really good Trackmaster numbers as of late and is showing more and more promise each week. Look for a little bit of a price and don’t be shocked if this one comes storming home to win. #8 NORTHERN CREDIT looked sharp last week for trainer Jenn Bongiorno. Tonight her gelding gets a tough draw towards the outside, but he is ever improving and could be dangerous. #9 LUCKY SHEILA has had the unlucky draw of the outside in her last three starts, she is very versatile and I look for her to be close.
Race 4: #3 THISGUYISONFIRE has won three straight as he moved up against the Open competition. The draw was very kind to this one again this week and against a six-horse field, this could be his opportunity to shine. #6 TROLLEY is another that is looking to extend his winning streak against tougher company. His last two starts have blown the doors off the field, look for another strong trip.
Race 5: #5 GOLD ORCHID N has won four of her last five starts and the race she didn’t win she was closing like a freight train at Dover and just missed. Dunn picks up the mount once again.
Race 6: #1A LANDONFITZ is probably going to be one of the speed horses in the race, the biggest thing I wonder is how the outside post will work for him. He has struggled somewhat coming from off the pace before, maybe. #2 WAITING ON A WOMAN draws the rail for trainer Kyle Spagnola and driver Brett Miller. He has a little speed, but can also come from off the pace and that versatility is very important. #9 ITHINKTHATSMINE adds Lasix for the second time this week, she seemed to improve in her last start, the only question is post-ten.
