Hoosier Park Racing and Casino Race 10 (Trifecta)
Date: 10/24/2018 Carryover: $0 Guarantee: $20,000
Ticket: 3,4,8/2,3,4,8,10/2,3,4,8,10– Cost: $18.00 ($.50 base)
Yesterday’s Recap – We had a couple of scratches that took our ticket down a few dollars yesterday, but that still did not help us with a score. Once Rycroft N made the lead he never looked back with Merriman in the sulky. The Super Hi-5 of 2/3/6/10/9 returned $146.84.
Race 10: #3 KAYMAR CHROME was scratched sick two starts back and last week struggled a little bit first off the layoff, but I think she needed that start. She draws well this week and while she doesn’t have a lot of speed if she is close to the pace, she is one to watch.
#4 BEACH REPORT has shown before that she can flash a lot of early speed, in fact, that seems to be a spot she really likes to be. Trace gets back in the bike this week and if she can avoid getting into trouble I see her scoring at a price.
#2 INDY ROSE is a filly that has been extremely consistent as of late and has been hitting the board left and right. She handled the jump to this class extremely well and looks like she could present a little bit of value this week.
#8 WISH UPON A ROCK has been off for about a month, but has qualified decently in her last two efforts with Widger in the bike for trainer Ernest Gaskin. She has some cruising speed and races well when she doesn’t have to come from off the pace. I expect Widger to step on the gas and try to get into a good striking spot.
#10 VIRGIN SPEED gets Warren back in the bike this week as Widger chooses off to the 8. She gets a tough draw to the outside, but could bring up the rear of the trifecta at a price as she has shown some ability to hit the board before.
