Retired Champions: Today’s Success

Today’s Success is a 2002 pacer by sire Maybee Today and dam Beach Success, with a career that included 206 starts and lifetime winnings of $176,044.  Based at The Meadows in Washington, PA, Kim Martino donated him to New Vocations in April 2013 after his career. Trainer Jennifer Daniels took him in when he arrived and worked with him each day to help in his transition from the track to life as a riding horse.

Two short months later, he was adopted by and joined Stephanie Geewax of Clarksville, TN’s family. Today picked up with Stephanie right where Jennifer left off and trained for over a year and a half to become a successful eventer and dressage horse – even receiving top placings at recognized shows!

Today’s Success is a true testament to how sturdy the Standardbred breed is as this nice gelding raced 206 times yet was able to get into the show arena and is very competitive against other breeds. New Vocations sends a big thank you to Kim Martino for sending them Today’s Success and trusting the organization to transition and place him.

We all look forward to hearing more great things from this team!

Retired Champions is a series higlighting Standardbreds off the track who have joined families at their farms, competed in dressage, joined the police force and more across the country
